College football recruiting these days seems to be moving at a record pace. If you don't have a spectacular junior season, you don't put together a super highlight film and hit a camp and combine circuit during the summer, it's easy to fall off the radar of college recruiters. There’s very little wiggle room for the late blooming senior prospect.
One prospect that has seemed to have fallen through the cracks is Graham Glasgow (Aurora, Ill./Marmion Academy). The basketball star turn football player is just now beginning to hit his stride. His offensive line Coach is Kurt Becker, a former offensive lineman that owns a Super Bowl ring with the Chicago Bears.
"Well there's no question that I feel Graham has been overlooked," Coach Becker said. "Graham is a kid that's a late bloomer. He has not even come close to his stride. He's a great athlete that's just learning the game of football right now and he has made tremendous strides this season.
"Graham is easily a 300 pound tackle and he’s got the feet to go with that size. I think Graham has a great future ahead of him. I really don't know what college coaches are looking for anymore but I know that they do look for size. If you look at just size alone Graham jumps off the page."
Marmion head coach Dan Thorpe had this to offer.
"At this time last year Graham still thought he was a basketball player," Coach Thorpe Said. "Last January Graham started to get mail from colleges for football and not basketball and that lit a fire under him. He started working hard in the weight room. Graham has strong hands and he’sathletic. Ae's got very good feet and there's no doubt in my mind that he could play at the next level. Hopefully the exposure from the state championship game will help him get noticed."
Glasgow does have an F BS scholarship offer.
"Eastern Michigan has offered me a scholarship," said the 6-foot-6, 295-pound offensive tackle. "I feel that as the season went along I became a better football player. In the seventh game of the season I tore a ligament in my wrist but I played with a cast on. This season has been an incredible experience for all of us and it’s been significantly better for me. I'm hearing from a lot of the MAC schools like Northern Illinois and Western Michigan. I'm keeping an open mind right now and listening to all schools that are interested in me."
